Job Goal: Support the educational needs of the district by prioritizing and coordinating repairs, technical support, and maintenance of district technology hardware and software. 

 

Qualifications:

• Physical Examination as required by the district.
• Practical knowledge of current computer platforms and operating systems
• Practical knowledge of LAN and WAN design and management in order to implement efficient bandwidth usage and reliability
• Understanding of network security systems
• Degree or equivalent training in computer hardware repair
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with other staff
• Knowledge of Google Apps for Education 
• Strong written and oral language skills
• Ability to work well with others
• Blood borne pathogens certificate on file
• Child abuse certificate on file
• Experience integrating technology into classroom learning in meaningful ways.

 

Reports to: Director of Technology

 

Performance and Responsibilities:

 

• Provide hardware and software support to all users.
• Maintain a record of current inventory and repair history.
• Perform routine maintenance of all district technology equipment.
• Troubleshoot networking issues on wired and wireless networks.
• Assist technology director with the creation and editing of policies to manage network.
• Perform evaluation and installation of new software as needed in coordination with Technology Director
• Coordinate the assembly and distribution of new equipment.
• Maintain network security and protection systems
• Coordinate with vendors to facilitate repairs of equipment
• Foster positive relationships with staff and patrons.
• Complete necessary documentation to recover costs related to repairs through Specialty Underwriters
• Assist the technology director with planning of hardware, software and purchased services as requested.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Wages and work year to be determined by the Superintendent and the Board of Education.  

 

EVALUATIONS: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Director of Technology.
